INDYCAR: Helio heads Chevy qualifying rout

Team Penske's Helio Castroneves pulverized Arie Luyendyk's longstanding IndyCar track record at Phoenix to lead a Chevy sweep of the top 10 in qualifying on Friday. The Brazilian pushed the No. 3 Penske entry to a new single-lap qualifying record (19.0997s/ 192.631mph) which eclipsed the Dutchman's previous record set in 1996 (19.608/183.599mph.The three-time Indy 500 winner was able to capture pole despite getting loose on his final lap."The first lap was great, on the second one, I was holding my breath to make sure I made Turn 1, but I had the biggest moment in Turn 3 and 4," Castroneves told RACER.
