Dixon looking to launch IndyCar title defence with victory

Reigning IndyCar champion Scott Dixon is looking to launch his title defence with victory this weekend at St. Petersburg, as the new IndyCar season gets underway. Last season the Kiwi stormed to his fourth championship crown, despite ending the season tied on 556 points with Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya. After winning three races, one more than Montoya, the eventual tie-break went in favour of Dixon. Despite his championship success, Dixon started last season in poor form with 15th at St. Petersburg and 11th at Louisiana, before rediscovering his form and winning at Long Beach.
