First phase of Wilson charity auction in final days
The first phase of an online bidding auction on eBay to benefit the family of the late Justin Wilson comprising of 20 IndyCar driver’s helmets will end this week. Bidding on the signed helmet worn by 2015 IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon ends in a little over 24 hours while most of the other helmets have just over three days left before bids close. Dixon’s helmet has, at the time of writing, attracted 25 bids with the highest offer standing at $17,235 ($24,168 AUD) while Penske ace Juan Montoya’s helmet currently stands at $10,601 ($14,865 AUD) from 32 bids.
