Rahal breaks seven-year winless streak, Briscoe flips
Pack racing provided some spectacular racing and unfortunately, an airborne accident in the 500-mile fight at Auto Club Speedway. The 500-mile fight for the win at Auto Club Speedway had everyone glued to their screens as drivers battle three, four, and even five wide from the first lap to the last lap. The race ended under caution as Ryan Briscoe flipped in the tri-oval, allowing Graham Rahal to capture his first IndyCar win in over seven years. He edged out Tony Kanaan, Marco Andretti, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Sage Karam for the victory. The race saw 14 out of the 23 starters lead a lap with Will Power leading the most at 62.
