Pagenaud tops the field in Fontana qualifying

– Simon Pagenaud was just the third qualifier in the 22-car field for tomorrow's MAVTV 500, but he wasted no time in going quickest overall.  The Frenchman earned his second career pole position with a two-lap average speed of 218.952mph, a full mile-per-hour quicker than his nearest competitor.Pagenaud will be joined on the three-wide front row by team-mate Hélio Castroneves (218.731mph) and Marco Andretti (217.662mph), who claimed his best starting position of the year and was the highest Honda qualifier.Ed Carpenter, taking over for Luca Filippi on ovals, came in a solid fourth (217.077mph) on a very hot afternoon in Fontana, California.  He just beat Juan Pablo Montoya, who...
