Indy 500: Will Power tops final practice on Carb Day
Will Power set fastest time in the final practice session before the 99th Indy 500. The Verizon Team Penske Dallara-Chevrolet clocked a 229.020mph lap, ahead of the two Chip Ganassi Racing-Chevys of Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan. Power, who will start the race from the middle of the front row, was some 0.4mph faster than polesitter Dixon who, like teammate Kanaan, is gunning for his second victory in the world’s biggest race. Meanwhile Simon Pagenaud’s No. 22 Penske entry backed up its strong performance in practice and qualifying with fourth fastest. Takuma Sato, who famously came close to nailing the 2012 Indy 500, was fifth fastest for AJ Foyt Racing and therefore fastest Honda...
