Acura announced as title sponsor of GP of Long Beach

The IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach has announced a new title sponsorship deal with Acura, replacing the long-standing association with Toyota. The previous Toyota deal was thought to be the longest continual sporting sponsorship deal in the world, having lasted for 44 years before the Japanese carmaker withdrew their name from the event in 2018. Acura, the luxury vehicle marque of rival manufacturer Honda, has now taken over the entitlement deal for the race, which has consistently achieved the highest attendance figures for any IndyCar race outside the 500 at Indianapolis. “This is truly the start of a new era in the history of the Grand Prix,” said Jim Michaelian, president...
