Rain postpones remainder of Alabama GP to Monday

IndyCar has been forced to abandon the race at Barber Motorsports Park until Monday after continuous heavy rain fell across the Alabama circuit. The remaining laps of the Grand Prix of Alabama will take place on Monday to try and find a winner with 67 laps or 75 minutes after the race on Sunday was stopped on lap 23. As the officials got the race underway for the first time, Josef Newgarden led the field away and quickly gained a lead over Penske team-mate Will Power who was trying to chase him down in the early stages.
