Jim Nabors 1930-2017

Jim Nabors, whose renditions of 'Back Home Again in Indiana' anchored the build-up to the Indianapolis 500 for four decades, died on Thursday at the age of 87. The Alabama-born singer and actor was best known in showbusiness for his role as Gomer Pyle in the Andy Griffith Show and spin-off series Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. in the 1960s, although he was regularly cast in on-screen and voice acting film and TV roles through to the mid-1990s, and continued to make stage appearances into the 2000s.
