Rossi wins first career pole at Watkins Glen

– Alexander Rossi beat Scott Dixon to pole position at Watkins Glen on Saturday as the final car to cross the line in the Firestone Fast Six. It is Rossi's first career IndyCar pole position.Dixon had previously been holding provisional pole over championship leader Josef Newgarden by the slimmest of margins, just 0.0001 second ahead, but in the dying moments of the session the Kiwi quickly found himself in P2 by 0.0529 seconds.Rossi's pole (1:22.4639) headed a trio of competitors who all broke last year's lap record around the iconic New York road course.
