Sebastien Bourdais cleared to make IndyCar return

Sebastien Bourdais has been given the all clear to make a return to IndyCar racing, after a final check-up by medical chiefs. The French driver sustained fractures to his pelvis and right hip in a high-speed accident during qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 in May. The Dale Coyne Racing driver looked set to be ruled out for the rest of the 2017 IndyCar season, but he has made a quicker recovery than expected. Bourdais recently returned to the wheel of a car, completing an IndyCar test at Mid-Ohio and managing 80 laps over the course of the day.
