Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, Mikhail Aleshin 'mutually agree' to part ways

Mikhail Aleshin will not compete for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in the remainder of the 2017 IndyCar season after mutually agreeing to split. Russian driver Aleshin has made 46 IndyCar starts so far, all with SPM, after making his debut in 2014 and has scored two podiums so far. Aleshin secured his best championship finish last season with 15th place, and is currently 16th in this year’s standings. He missed practice at Road America due to visa issues and did not take part in the Toronto round, being replaced by Sebastian Saavedra. Aleshin returned to SPM for the Mid-Ohio round, but it has now been announced that he has parted ways with the team. A statement from SPM said:...
