Carpenter weighing 2018 options

A year ago, Ed Carpenter Racing was locked in a battle for the Verizon IndyCar Series championship with Josef Newgarden. This year, Newgarden is leading the championship with his new family at Team Penske, and while there's a strong sense of pride felt by his former team owner, Carpenter can't wait for ECR to rediscover its title-contending ways without him. Newgarden's replacement, JR Hildebrand, has been on a rediscovery journey of his own. Four years removed from his last full-time IndyCar campaign, the 2009 Indy Lights champion has shown well on the ovals with podiums at Phoenix and Iowa, yet continues to search for his first top 10 on road and street courses in the No. 21 Chevy....
