Newgarden wins Toronto as contenders clash

Josef Newgarden was the beneficiary of a perfectly timed pit stop early in the Honda Indy Toronto, taking advantage of a yellow during pit stops and holding off a charge by Alexander Rossi to win for the second time on the streets of Toronto. And while the sky threatened a downpour during the race, the storm hit title contenders Scott Dixon and Will Power on the first lap. When the green flag flew, Helio Castroneves made a brilliant move from third on the inside to surprise pole-sitter and teammate Simon Pagenaud and Graham Rahal and jump out to the race lead.
