Dixon holds off Newgarden at Road America

– Scott Dixon held off a charging Josef Newgarden to win his first race of 2017 at Road America on Sunday. He had taken the lead on lap 31 following a restart, sweeping by Newgarden and never looking back in the 55-lap Kohler Grand Prix.Dixon had started fifth and managed to gain spots consistently on the pit stop rotation, eventually denying Team Penske a victory despite them sweeping the first four spots in qualifying yesterday.An exuberant Kiwi did donuts on his cool-down lap after earning his 41st career win.
