Sato wins thriller, Alonso's engine fails

– Takuma Sato held off a charging Hélio Castroneves in an 11-lap shootout on Sunday to win the 101st Indianapolis 500. The Andretti Autosport driver watched as all of his frontrunning team-mates dropped out of the race due to various incidents but put himself in a perfect position for a wheel-to-wheel battle with Castroneves, Ed Jones and Max Chilton.Fernando Alonso was one of those team-mates, but his Honda engine suddenly expired with 21 laps to go.  He had led a total of 26 laps and was one of a record number of leaders in this race.A full report to follow.
