Ed Carpenter has ended a windy third practice session fastest at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, after a day with limited running due to the unfavourable weather conditions. A wind advisory had been issued for the circuit throughout the day, with some gusts as high as 35mph and greatly hindering the teams and drivers as preparations continued around the 2.5-mile oval. Scott Dixon was P2 for Chip Ganassi Racing, after trading the top spot throughout the day with Carpenter.
