Power tops first Indy GP practice

Practice for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis got under way Friday morning in cool, overcast conditions. Team Penske's Will Power set the fast lap on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course with a 1m09.3172s (126.670 mph), but had to pull out a fast time late to do it in a session featuring a variety of names at the top of the order. The Penske-Chevy party seen last time out at Phoenix continued out of the gate, as Josef Newgarden, Power and Simon Pagenaud zoomed to the top three of the speed chart.
