Newgarden paces windy Phoenix practice

Josef Newgarden flirted with the track record and led the two-hour practice session Friday afternoon at Phoenix International Raceway. A week removed from his initial victory for Team Penske in Alabama, Newgarden turned a lap of 192.108mph (19.151 seconds) in his Verizon Special as Chevrolet swept the first five positions on a windy day where gusts of up to 30mph were reported.
