Marco Andretti sent a subtle message during the second Verizon IndyCar Series practice session at Barber Motorsports Park by eclipsing a trio of Team Penske Chevys with his Andretti Autosport Honda. The 45-minute outing saw plenty of spins and slides as drivers searched for grip with Firestone's primary and alternate tires, and with the faster red-banded rubber attached to most of the field, Andretti's 1m07.7134s lap edged Penske's Will Power (+0.0320s), FP1 leader Simon Pagenaud (+0.1171s), Helio Castroneves (+0.1910s), and Scott Dixon (+0.1985s), who completed the top five in his Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
