Texas Motor Speedway set for resurfacing

– Officials at the Texas Motor Speedway have announced that the entirety of the 1.5-mile oval will be resurfaced and reprofiled prior to IndyCar's visit to the circuit in 2017.Last season's event was subject to a 24-hour delay due to rain, while further adverse conditions meant the bulk of the race was consequently delayed until August.In response to the scenario which arose last year, an extensive drainage system will be installed, with numerous trenches set to be cut around the circuit.In addition to the resurfacing works, the first full repaving since 2001, the banking of Turns 1 and 2 will be decreased from 24 degrees to 20 degrees.The width of the racing surface at Turns 1 and 2...
