Watkins Glen gets two-year IndyCar extension

– Watkins Glen will remain on the IndyCar calendar for the next two years after concluding a new deal with series organisers on Thursday.Watkins Glen last hosted an IndyCar event in 2010 but the circuit will return to the calendar next weekend, after acting as a substitute for the cancelled Boston street race.The circuit will now continue to host a round of the championship in 2017 and 2018."Watkins Glen is the premier racing facility in the North East [of the United States], said New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo."IndyCar is pleased to be back at Watkins Glen and this great state."Watkins Glen is a world-class race track.
