Penske and Ganassi fight for supremacy in Friday Long Beach practice

IndyCar teams got two practice sessions to shake down their race cars Friday. A Ganassi 1-2 in the opening Long Beach practice Friday was followed by a Penske 1-2-3 in the following session.  The earlier practice went accident-free on the tricky street course as Scott Dixon led the way with a 1:08.646. Teammate Tony Kanaan trailed by .162. Ryan Hunter-Reay, who slaped the wall in the second session, timed in third here, splitting the leading CGR duo and the Penske drivers Simon Pagenaud and Will Power.
