INDYCAR: Pagenaud tops Power for Mid-Ohio pole

Simon Pagenaud added a valuable point to his championship lead by earning pole position for the Honda Indy 200 on Saturday in Mid-Ohio. The Chevy-powered Team Penske driver captured his sixth pole of the season and set a new qualifying record with a lap of 1m03.870sec as occasional rainfall pressured teams to choose the best time to send their drivers out to post a fast lap. Pagenaud's No. 22 crew aced the timing strategy and was rewarded with the top starting position at a track where passing is notoriously hard. "That's great," he said.
