INDY 500: Montoya first to crash

Defending Indy 500 winner Juan Montoya's bid to score a repeat victory ended against the Turn 2 wall on lap 63. The two-time Indy winner was the first car to crash during the centennial event as his No. 2 Team Penske Chevy understeered before gaining traction and sending the back of the his car around where he spun and hit the exit barrier. "It just got loose," Montoya said. "People do a lot of dumb things on a restart and we were just being careful, trying to make up some ground. The car was really good and it felt OK.
